Many manufacturers of processing equipment offer products in Canada through Firing Industries. One of these producers, Hosokawa Micron, makes the Mikro Air Jet Sieve model MAJSx2, a highly accurate and reliable particle-size analyzer recommended for the chemical, mineral, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, food-processing, and plastics sectors. Now, Hosokawa Micron has improved the performance of the MAJSx2 – updating its software to include CFR 21 part 11 registration.
Programmable vacuum pressure units
Hosokawa Micron has also added 12 language options and programmable vacuum pressure units to this particle-size analyzer, among other features. The MAJSx2 includes these new user benefits while retaining its original design.
The MAJSx2 is designed to determine the particle-size distribution of dry powders ranging in size from 20 to 4,750 micrometres. Already trusted by laboratories worldwide, this easy-to-operate device can be used to determine dry-powder particle sizes, to confirm that a powder top size does not exceed product specifications, and as a small lab-scale classifier for cutting fine portions out of samples.
Available from Firing Industries, the MAJSx2 uses a short series of sieve screens to determine the particle sizes of powdered samples. Negative pressure draws all particles below a specific particle size through a test sieve screen, and a positive airflow moves upwards through a rotating wand, carrying smaller particles to a vacuum collector. This method is ideal for quality control of raw materials, process control, and confirmation of final product specifications.
This particle-size analyzer has many other advantageous features for users, including the following: automatic data recording and storage, with network capability; USB backup of analysis; 20 gigabytes of storage; calculation of particle-size points from 0.01 to 99.99 per cent with the Rosin-Rammler Law; output graphs in linear and Rosin-Rammler formats; automatic differential-pressure control; adjustable date and time zone, for international use; sample volumes of ten to 100 grams per cycle; and polycarbonate sieve cover, brush, and tapping hammer.
