Firing Industries Ltd. is Canada’s source for processing solutions by piab, including the new piFLOW®p SMART Conveying Cycle Optimizer (CCO). This semi-automated premium vacuum conveyor moves more material at once, with ample saving on energy costs. The piFLOW®p SMART CCO focuses on the requirements of continuous operations while enabling direct pickup of materials from such sources as bag dump stations or barrels.
Maximum use of system capacity
This device needs fewer cycles to convey a product to packaging, sieving, milling, or dosing. piab has designed the piFLOW®p SMART CCO to optimize the process by maximizing the use of the system capacity with every conveying cycle. The dual-sensor solution allows the unit to use the whole conveyor batch volume in every cycle; the operator needs to set only one parameter, such as the carrying valve, while the conveyor adapts all other settings accordingly.
The top sensor of the piFLOW®p SMART CCO provides protection from material overfill. When the user shuts down the conveying cycle before material reaches the filter, this minimizes the risk of filter breakage, which lowers downtime and replacement expenses. The filter has a long lifespan, partly because a shock of compressed air cleans it during the discharge phase of the conveying cycle.
Ease of use is another major benefit of this conveyor. The piFLOW®p SMART CCO is as easy to operate as a screw conveyor is, even for a less skilled worker. The operator needs only to set the carrying air, since the instrument adjusts the suction and discharge times automatically to the material flow, which relieves the user from controlling three parameters and spending several cycles on fine-tuning the process to boost the performance.
